Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen

TRANSFORMERS- what an amazing film! It ranks up there with summer blockbusters like Star Trek for me! I will be honest, I have never seen the first one (thanks to my best friend, they let me borrow it tonight), but I want to now! It was on the edge of your seat, action, comedy, and drama all rolled into one. The 2 1/2 hours past by so quick! I would definitely pay to go see this (even IMAX) and buy popcorn and a drink! It is well worth the price! *on a side note, there are some sexual comments that over time seem to be too much. There is no nudity, however a lot of skimpy outfits and rear end shots!

My Sister's Keeper

MY SISTER'S KEEPER- I wil be honest, I was excited to go see this film, but it was kind of a let down. The film dragged on for what seemed like forever since it moved really slowly. Abigail Bresslin plays an 11 year old girl who wants to be medically dependant from her parents. She was born by envitro, to save the life of her older sister who is dying of lukemia. She feels like her mother does not love her, and she is sick of the multiple surgery's that she has gone through, and does not want to loose a kidney. Cameron Diaz plays a selfish mother (mind you I do not have children, and I cannot relate, but I do know if my child has been dying for over 10 years and she wants it to be over I would honor that wish and make the best of what's left) who will not give up on her daughter and seems to use her youngest child like a medical experiment.

Of course this film is one you need your tissues for, but there where issues that really offended me after a while. There is certain things I would not condone from a 14 year old nor do I wish to see partial nudity, sex, or heavy drinking. I personally would save your money and wait for the lifetime special...

SUNSHINE CLEANING

SUNSHINE CLEANING- I thoroughly enjoyed this film! It was nothing what I was expecting it to be! Amy Adams plays a mid twenties single mother of a little boy (around 8 or 9) who is trying her hardest to go to school for Real Estate and be able to support herself and child. Her son listens far too much to his Aunt, and is constantly getting into trouble at school, in the newest case; liking the walls, desk and even teachers legs! They want to try to medicate him and send him to a “special needs” class, even though he is a very bright young child. Adams then decides to try to put him into private school, but finding the money is no easy task.

The boys father is her old fling from high school (she was lead cheerleader and he was quarterback on the football team, match made in heaven) who is also a police officer of some sorts. He gives her a lead of cleaning up crime scenes, and making a lot more money. She decides to take his advice and recruit her unreliable sister who is played by Emily Blunt. The two of them go into business, and really find a way to somehow touch each others lives, and the lives of those who have lost loved ones. Their crazy adventures also help them overcome a life of troubles and memories of their own mother, who left the world by her choice.

I felt this movie was a very touching story and I would gladly go see it again. Adam’s son at one point in the film sneaks out to the van that they had purchased for the film and tries to talk to God and his Grandmother. He says something that I have been thinking about for a few days now, “If you are already in Heaven, where do you go when you die?”

Knowing, Duplicity, Monsters VS Aliens

It’s been too long! I am sorry if I have let anyone down! I have seen tree films in the last week Knowing, Duplicity and Monsters Vs Aliens.

KNOWING- Please save yourself and do not waste your time on this film! I don’t know if anyone out there feels the same way, but it seems like Nicholas Cage is constantly revisiting the same roles. Here Nicolas Cage plays a widower and a father to a young child I would guess about 9 years old. He also is a professor at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) specializes in the solar system. I will say the first half was really good, kept you on the edge of your seat and special effects and sound was amazing! Then it just goes downhill, over dramatized and I hate to give anything away but once the Aliens show up it’s over. I can say that I am still laughing about the final scene! In my perspective, from a religious aspect I would say that this film was developed by some type of Scientology perspective. If you do want a good laugh waste your money on this film, but I say save your money and wait for a TV special or something!

DUPLICITY- I loved this film! What a great way for Julia Roberts to make a comeback! This film reminded me somewhat of the Ocean’s 11 series, with the flashbacks and the show all at the end. Tony Gilroy directed and wrote this, along with the Bourne Identity Trilogy. It kept my mind trying to figure it out and was very entertaining.

The film starts out in honestly one of the best openings I have seen for awhile with Tom Wilkinson and Paul Giamatti both walking out of their own private jets and onto the tarmac. They have a silent by visual confrontation and fighting breaks out all the time with just facial expressions and no words, just back round music. Clive Owen and Julia Roberts both play secret spies who reunite to help try to take down a leading pharmaceutical company by giving out their “secret” new invention. Between the flashbacks the comedic action and secrecy I would completely recommend this film, I even bought popcorn for this one!

MONSTERS VS ALIENS- What a heartwarming cute film! This film was from the maker’s of Shrek and Kung Fu Panda, and they hit another one out of the ballpark! With an all-star cast of giving amazing comedic talents and great voice over’s, I would gladly see this again, and in 3-D. When Susan Murphy (voice of Reese Witherspoon) is about the get married to Derek (Voice of Paul Rudd), she is struck by a meteorite and grows to extreme size. She is captured and sent to “monster prison” where she meets Dr. Cockroach PhD (voice of Hugh Laurie), The Missing Link (Voice of Will Arnett) and my favorite B.O.B (voice of Seth Rogan). When the Alien Gallaxhar (voice of Rainn Wilson) finds that Susan contains the coveted chemical that will make all of his dreams come true he send robotic alien to capture her. The meeting of the Alien is greeted by President Hathaway (voice of Stephan Colbert) it turns into a mini Axel-F concert and the realization that they cannot take down this alien without the help of the “monsters”.

The graphics alone on this film was amazing, a new touch from the other recent films produced by DreamWorks as well as Pixar. My favorite scenes in this film was with B.O.B. he added great comedic relief and left you wanted more! His lines was something you will remember for a long time to come and my favorite was him falling in love with the Jell-O! Take your kids to go see this and enjoy the time to forget abut everything else going on in the world!

I LOVE YOU, MAN

Peter Klaven (Paul Rudd) Decides to pop the question to his girlfriend Zooey (Played by Rashida Jones, most known for her role of Karen off the hit show The Office) of 8 months Some say its too soon, but for Peter he thinks it was long enough! They share a special relationship of him being the caring, considerate, ladies friend, and not having any real guy friends. When Peter comes home early and walks in on his Fiancé’s girls night and over hears her friends saying that it would be strange not having any groomsmen in the wedding party, Peter starts to stress out and goes on a series of “man dates” to find the perfect best man!

From Peter’s Mother (Jane Curtin) to his younger gay brother Robbie (Andy Samburg) trying to set him up with other guys, Peter has some very interesting encounters. After a series disastrous encounters, Peter meets Sydney Fife (Jason Segel) at an open house for Lou Ferrigno (as himself). Peter was overcome by Sydney’s honesty and how well he is able to read people, and exchanges contact information. Once they finally get to hang out, Peter realizes how much they really have in common, and how honest he can be with someone else.

This film is hilarious with laughter from start all the way to the end of the credits! I would gladly go see this again, and pay the full price. This film is rated R, however I surprised to an extent to see that. There is no nudity, yes they have a few slip ups with some language, but all in all it was put together very well. There are a few indiscrete jokes her and there, so it might not be for everyone.

7 Pounds

SEVEN POUNDS- I normally boycott Will Smith films, and have not see his last three films. I had the joys of going Saturday night with some friends to go see this film. I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. There where issues at the theatre about the focusing, but I was able to still follow it and enjoyed every second of it. In the opening, Will Smith is on the phone with a call center for a meat order that went weary. The gentleman on the other end of the phone, was Woody Harrelson who portrayed a blind man. Smith in turn harasses him and makes crude comments about Harrelson’s disability, and ends up having a breakdown and screams the name of seven individuals. I felt sick inside, and want to get up and leave, but I am glad I stuck through it.

Through flashbacks and everything else going on, you come to find out that Smith got in a horrific car accident due to him emailing on his Blackberry while driving and kills the love of his life along with a van full of 6 other people. Smith is torn up about this, and tries to do good for the world. In his quest to save the lives of others that are battling terminal illnesses, he steals his brothers IRS badge and finds people that are being audited for not paying their taxes, and tries to find out what type of person they really are. Some of them are not very nice, and one person in particular runs a nursing home and doesn’t treat the elderly with much respect.

This film was heart whelming, and inspiring. I know that I saw it in the dollar theatre, but I would recommend it to everyone, and knowing how good it was I would have paid for at least a matinee price.

WATCHMEN

WATCHMEN- I had the joys or viewing Watchmen last night at another advanced screening. I will try to be nice about this review, since some are very excited to see this film. I on that note, was one of them, but I can honestly say do not waste your money or the 163 minutes of your life. Granite I have never read the book, but I figured it would be okay. The film was very slow pace and I personally felt as though it dragged on FOREVER! There was no real climax to the film, and the there where flashbacks constantly and for me it was difficult to figure out what was going on.

I will say that the sound effects where good (even though the theatre had the volume up way too high, most of the audience had their ears covered), and most of the special effects where amazing, even for a film that was set back for the 80’s. That would be the only reason why I would say go see it in the theatre’s if it is a must see, but really I had the hardest time sitting through it.

This film should have been rated at least NC-17, I knew for a while they where trying to decide what the rating would be, and I surprised it got even an R rating. Nudity is one thing, but full frontal shots of the male anatomy not one or twice, but at least 10 times was uncalled for.

The other thing about this film that was disappointing was that there was no real conclusion. It did not make you feel like there was a sequel on the way by any means, but the ending was just strange. It felt like the conclusion to Pirates of the Caribbean 3, where it circled around back to the beginning.

Personally, I would not even recommend this film at the dollar movie, or Redbox, not even on HBO/Starz if it is on. Save yourself, and take my word that it is not worth it. It cost over 100 million to film and lots of legal battles, yet I would be surprised if it makes what it cost to film, this will flop in the box office after the word gets out.

Movie Catch-Up

*I know I am a little behind in updating this blog, but it has been a crazy couple of weeks! The following movies I saw over the past three weeks.

HE’S JUST NOT THAT INTO YOU- This movie was hilarious and very well put together. It honestly touches base on various different scenarios in the dating world. I felt like somebody finally got it right in the film! This movie is based off of a best Selling novel, and the writer is friends with the creators of Sex and the City. I think if any of you have ever experienced dating in this day and age, you have come across some of these situations. Sitting, waiting, wishing for that one special person’s phone call, wondering if they are really into you or not. Big Love’s Ginnifer Goodwin plays a spunky spice editor who is helpless when it comes to dating. From trying to “run” into someone at the known Sports Bar he goes to, to leaving long and rambling messages just trying to get something in return. She then runs into Kevin Connolly (the guy she *thinks* she is in love with)’s best friend and restaurant/bar owner Justin Long who helps Goodwin’s character through these horrible dating situations. Romance blossoms in some cases, and in others it just fizzles out.

Bradley Cooper plays the married man in this film, who felt like he jumped into marriage too soon. His wife however seemed like she could have cared less when he tells her he slept with Scarlett Johansson, but is more concerned and trying to figure out if he has taken to Smoking again. Whereas Ben Affleck who has been dating and living with Jennifer Aniston for over seven years, refuses to Marry. This upsets Jennifer Aniston, since she is helping plan her baby sisters wedding.

This film is filled with ups and downs and honest to goodness goes through almost every situation you could ever imagine. I had free tickets to this film the first time, and paid the full $8.50 for the second time. I would highly recommend this film to anyone in the mood for a cute romantic comedy, that the men are sure to enjoy themselves!

TAKEN- Liam Neeson plays an ex spy who worked for the government whose daughter goes to France for the summer and gets kidnapped. Neeson does not have a very strong relationship with his daughter, and is hesitant to let her go away. Part of the arrangement is that she has to call every night before bed, and let him know every place she goes. When he checks her arriving flight to Paris and sees that she still has yet to call, he gets frantic and continues to call. She finally answers, and goes into the bathroom to get away from the loud music blaring and witnesses her best friend being kidnapped. Her father walks her through whats going to happen and decided that at this point it is revenge.

With Neeson flying across the world to rescue his baby girl, a lot is uncovered including corruption within the police department, and a huge underground mob/prostitution/drug ring. He has very few hours to uncover everything before it’s too late and looses his daughter forever. This film was gripping and kept me on the edge of my seat. If you are in the mood for a great thriller action packed film check this out! It is definitely a theatre must see, especially for the sound quality alone!

CONFESSIONS OF A SHOPAHOLIC- based off the book by Sophie Kinsella, Ilsa Fisher plays a shopaholic that owes over $16,000 in debt due to her addiction. The trailers made this film look appealing but I would not recommend wasting your money. I felt as thought his film was all way to predictable and that it dragged on forever. Fisher’s character plays a young mid-twenties girl whose dream is to write for an upscale fashion magazine, but mistakenly lands a job for a financial magazine. This coming from a girl, who cannot pay any of her bills (including rent), and has a collections officer after her for a debt over $9,000. The antics this collections guy will go through to get his commission on this case is ridiculous and dragged on. I normally like “chick” flicks and what not, but this did not entice me at all. Personally I would not waste my money to see this again, but if you must subject yourself to it, wait for either a dollar film or Red Box.

Pink Panther 2

I had the ‘joys’ of viewing an advanced screening of this film last night. All I can say is I thankfully forgot how horrible the first one, and it was literally quite painful to try to watch the second one! Steve Martin is once again plays a ridiculous blubbering French detective Jacques Clouseau, who has to try to solve the mystery of who stole the Pink Panther diamond (I think the story lines are almost the same as the first one, except this time there is no Beyonce in it, sorry guys!). This film was a waste of 92 minutes, filled with slapstick dirty humor, that I felt should have been rated PG-13. Maybe some of the crude humor could overpass a small child, but my teenage cousins could definitely pick up on it, and makes me wonder what type of audience this so called ‘family film’ is really trying to target. Do yourself a favor and not waste even a dollar on Redbox for this one, and as my kind roommate put it “wait for it to come to HBO if you must see it”. This film is so far in the running for worst film of the year, and it is only Feb!

NEW IN TOWN

What a cute wholesome movie! I was surprised by how funny and clean this movie was! Just like most romantic comedies or “chick flicks” as some might call it, it was slightly predictable at parts, but it was okay in this context. I personally felt that a lot of people could relate to Renée Zellweger’s character in this film, a person who is set in their ways and not really up for experiencing new things. She finally decides to make the most of her experience and reach out to the community and find happiness! If you are looking for a nice getaway with cute humor, go see this film. I would recommend it to anyone; even some of the guys that went enjoyed it. Worth at least a matinee price!

Top 5 Best Films of 2008

*In No particular order

THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON- This has to be one of my favorites, there is action, drama, curiosity, romance, everything you need in one film. The cinematography is amazing!

THE BOY IN THE STRIPED PAJAMAS- The amazing tale of true friendship and looking past what some have been “taught” see. The ability to not care, and be so naive that you really don’t know what is going on, and teach a little boy that race and religious matters do not mean a thing.

GHOST TOWN
- Ricky Dervais is hysterical and you can’t help but love this movie! Dervais plays a not very friendly DDS who goes in for a ‘routine’ colonoscopy and unexpectedly dies for a little under 7 minutes. After that he starts to see ghost’s and is being haunted by them. It’s a good fairly clean film that you will enjoy over and over again!

ROCK AND ROLLA- I love music and I love movies, so why not put the two together. This film is a Guy Ritchie film and he really knocked it out of the park. It has a lot of dry British humor in it and reminded me slightly of Pulp Fiction. The plot line falls around a famous rock and roll artist who disappears (again) and decided to steal a painting from his step father’s house. Only that that painting was on loan for inspiration from a very well know Russian Mafia person. This film goes around and around in circles, and I totally want to see it again!

THE DARK KNIGHT- I am not normally a Batman fan but this film was amazing! The digital enhancements and the special effects was amazing! I will be honest I went solely for the factor that I loved Heath Ledger, but I never thought it would be as good as it was! The Joker alone was amazing, and how deep in character he got! I loved how just alone with Batman driving around on his bullet bike how you could feel your seat shake! I also enjoyed the creepiness of Two Face!

Top 5 Worst Movies of 2008

*The following are in no particular order.

LOVE GURU- How many times can Austin Powers be revisited? I never seen a film with so many sexual innuendos, and dirty things in it! I felt totally uncomfortable and I almost walked out. Do not ever waste your time or money on this film.

BE KIND REWIND- I love Jack Black, but this was not a good film choice. I felt like there where parts where I laughed, but other times when I was looking at my clock wondering how long this film is!

STEP BROTHERS- I normally enjoy all of Will Ferrell’s films but I literally walked out of this one and asked for my money back. That was a first for me! It was waiting on the rating for a long time, and then it was put at rated R, well by 45 minutes into it I was wondering if it was borderline NC-17?!!?? I was trying to pass the time, while there was a 4 hour commute home due to this truck that flipped and was blocking all 5 lanes, but looking back I would have rather stayed sitting in the hot heat than wasting 45 minutes of my life!

TROPIC THUNDER- I hear this is getting lots of praise, and I do not understand. I am not a fan of Tom Cruise, and props to him for making fun of himself, but this was horrible in my mind. I basically fast forwarded through the end of it, because I could not bare it any longer. I don’t know if it is my irritation with people making fun of war and thinking it is a joke or what, but I was not impressed. My brother is serving his second tour in Iraq, and I do not find anything about it funny.

LAKEVIEW TERRACE- Samuel L Jackson was not so Buenos! This looked like it would be a thriller type movie, and there was really no climax to it! the main plot was the fact that Jackson was upset because their was an interracial coupling that moved in next door and he wants to “teach them” a lesson. The only remotely suspenseful part was last ten minutes, and then you are left wanting more!

Revolutionary Road

Interesting film… Kate Winslet (won Best Actress Golden Globe) did an amazing job portraying an unhappy woman who back in the 1960’s would look to be “crazy” because she did not want the “normal” life. She felt like she was feeling suffocated in her cookie cutter life, and all she wanted was to get out and be free. She makes this plan with her husband to move to Paris and to experience life again, but her dreams come to a halt when her Husband Leonardo DeCaprio gets a promotion at work and he is too scared to turn it down. I would recommend seeing it, but this is a Redbox or dollar one.

Paul Blart: Mall Cop

I think this was a cute family film. Going into it you know it is going to be a family movie about a security guards personal goal to save the mall he loves. There is cute slapstick comedy, and cheesy in parts. I would say though if you want to go see this, either wait for the Dollar Theatre or RedBox. I am not sure if I would have paid $8, knowing how it was going to be!

Gran Torino

I cried. I am normally not an overly emotional person, and not usually in movies, but this film was amazing. I am sad that it was passed up for some Oscars! Clint Eastwood plays this older senile man, who looses his wife and is left all alone, in the slums of Detroit. He worked at the Ford factory his whole life, and has lived in the same house this whole time. He is estranged from his family, and really just doesn’t have a whole lot going for him. Before his wife passed away, she asked the Priest in their church to make him go to confession, and that is his one and only goal. Eastwood lives his life, as if he was back in the war, and is not afraid to pull a gun on you if you step onto his property. His neighbors next door are Hmong, and when their son gets into trouble with a local gang (compiled of his cousins, and initiations involved him stealing Eastwood’s Gran Tornio), Eastwood comes to the rescue. When the young man tried to apologize for his actions, he is forced into cleaning and doing yard work until his debt is paid off. From then on it is a tale of how his heart is softened to letting people in and moving on with his life. This is one of Clint’s best films I have seen, and shows so much how just a little bit of compassion can go a long way. It is rated R, but strictly for the violence of a gang and few slips up of the S word. I paid for this film, and I would see it again!

The Reader

This movie is adapted from a novel and nominated for 5 Oscars. I had only herd that this movie was about the Post War life in Germany. I had no idea how amazing it would turn out to be, and how the story would unravel. I do advise, there is nudity during the first 20 minutes that I wish was disclosed to me prior to viewing this, but it set up the story perfectly. Kate Winslet (Won Best Supporting Actress Golden Globes) plays an illiterate woman trying to cope with life after the World War II. She meets this young man on the streets who gets sick and takes him back to his house. After Michael is better he goes to sat thank you and brings her flowers. From there it turns into a summer of romance, and reading to her. Later in life, Michael is attending law school and goes to Berlin to observe a court hearing. Little to his surprise, It is Winslet on trial for war crimes. Michael is the only person who knows her secret and can set her free, or at least a lesser sentence, but chooses to keep his mouth shut. I recommend this movie to anyone, and I would go see it again!

Winter Blockbusters

Over the last few months I have been blessed to have access to a lot of the sneak screenings of various films. I have seen the following, and of course for FREE: W, Boy In The Striped Pajamas, Nothing Like The Holidays, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (twice actually), Doubt, Milk, Valkerie, Marley and Me, Yes Man, Bride Wars, Defiance, Revolutionary Road, and Last Chance Harvey. I think that’s all, but I might be missing some! I have tickets in the coming weeks to New Girl in Town and The Uninvited.

Now most of these movies, I have enjoyed most a few that I was disappointed in, and one that I wish I could get those two hours of my life back!!! We will start with the movies that where not the best and that I would not necessarily recommend.

DOUBT- The Highlight of this movie was nothing. It was a waste of time, and thankfully no money was involved. I do not understand how it is being nominated for any awards. Here is the problem, there was no climax, and they never even proved if the Priest was in fact having a relationship with the boy or not! The only remotely amusing part of this movie was the closing line when Streep says “Sister, I… Have… Doubts!” You couldn’t help but laugh! I understand that this movie is based on doubts, but at least finish developing the plot a little more!

NOTHING LIKE THE HOLIDAYS- This movie was said to be a family feel good Christmas film. There was not a whole lot of “feel good” going on here! You have a son coming home from Iraq to see his family for the first time in 3 years. First off, he came home injured and that does not make me too thrilled since my brother is serving over in Iraq right now. Then this movie goes into all these crazy side plots. I counted at least 8 different stories all coming into play on this film, there was too much going on, and it was not a comedy like it is portrayed. It is a sad movie and the only remotely funny parts where on the previews.

MARLEY AND ME-
This was a cute film about a dog, with the outcome like any other dog and Lassie film. However I was slightly upset about a few things in this movie. Yes it was comical, but I really did not feel it was a children’s movie. This film was rated PG, but it had so many sexual innuendos, side boobs and dog humping in it. I just really did not feel it was an appropriate movie to take young children to go see. I would have felt better about the movie I think if I knew going into it, and if it was rated PG-13.

MILK- This movie was brilliant. It is about the first publically gay Politian in the late 1960’s who was assassinated. The gay rights movement really took off with Harvey Milk, and it is amazing to see how far we have really come in 30 years, and how much farther we have to go. I was skeptical knowing that Sean Penn would being playing this Gay rights icon, but he really pulled it off, and made me enjoy this film.

YES MAN
- Now in my opinion most Jim Carey comedy films are all the same, and I feel like he does not take that role to the right level. I went into this film not looking for anything special, just knowing that it was a free film. I have not laughed so hard in such a long time. It was funny and cute and I really want to go see this film again! There was a great cast and I loved that his manager in the movie was the band manager off of Flight of the Concords!

VALKERIE- I do not like Tom Cruise nor do I pretend to like him. He did a relatively good job in it except for the fact that everybody else in the movie had a European accent, EXCEPT HIM! That in my mind was the only thing missing! The script was great, and I love movies about the WWII, but it was distracting watching Cruise play this war hero. The movie was very fast pace, and moved smoothly. I would recommend it, if you can get through Tom Cruise’ horrible acting.

BRIDE WARS- This is your typical Kate Hudson film, predictable, but cute. I was glad I saw it, don’t think I would necessarily purchase it when it comes out though. I was slightly sad when Anne Hathaway turned into the mean person though, I will always love her as Princess Diaries star.

LAST CHANCE HARVEY- a cute love story, which everyone dreams of. I was not sure about Dustin Hoffman playing Harvey, but he may of pulled it off. It was a very slow paced, yet left me hopeful leaving the theatre. Now I don’t know if I would spend $8 to go see this, but I would totally dollar theatre it or wait for RedBox.

W- This was supposed to be controversial film about George W Bush, but I felt like it did not shed any new light on the situation. Then again, this film was released during the height of the 700 Billion bailout, but filmed months before that. It was hard to sit through, listening to the sound of Bush’s voice. I would have rather listened to nails on a chalk board! The characters however fit perfectly!

DEFINACE- This is a historic true story of the Bielski brothers who fought to try to free Jews from the Ghetto and from the German Soldiers. It started out with just the brothers trying to flee from the Police that murdered their parents, but led to them trying to save everyone. They built up camps and kept watch from the Soldiers and tried to make their life better. They withstood the blistering cold temperatures during the winters, and had to fight for food and warmth. This in my opinion is everything that Valkerie should have been and then some! This is the secret side of the war that I feel not a lot people knew about. Most believe that the Jews just sat there and took and didn’t try to stand up for their rights. Go see this movie! You will not be disappointed.

THE BOY IN THE STRIPED PAJAMAS- Excellent movie! This is about a little boy who moves with his family to a concentration camp; however they do not know what the camp was. They where told the camp was a fun place to be, but the boy was not allowed to go outside, other than the front courtyard. He sneaks away one day and find the camp, and makes a new friend. This boy is a Jew and I’m guessing you can picture what its like for him. It’s a tale of two boys becoming friends and not letting anything get in the way and how naive some people really where back then. I would recommend this film and totally sad that it was passed up for some Oscars.

THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON- This is one of my favorite films from last year! I had the joys of seeing it twice before it was released on Christmas. Brad Pitt played this role so well, and made it worth the three hours long the movie was! It showed that true love is unconditional and that you will always have a home and family to go back to. There are times or laughter and crying, but all in all, I will pay for this movie to see it again at $8 and buy it on DVD

*I know it has been awhile, and I have been meaning to post this for weeks. .
.
